Halloween

Halloween is so much more fun when you have children! This year Easton was finally old enough to appreciate Halloween and we made the most out of it. We decorated our house, decorated pumpkins, had a fun ward Halloween FHE and went trick or treating.

Thursday night, the night before Halloween, we went trick or treating around the law school. Students, teachers and other faculty members had candy and the kids were able to go around and trick or treat. This was Easton's first experience trick or treating. At first, he had no idea what to do. He was pretty nervous until he realized that every single person was giving him candy. By the end of the night, he was running to people and sticking his hands in their baskets and pulling out handfuls of candy. He picked up pretty quickly. He also loved it because he received lots of suckers, which are his favorite. He had a sucker in each hand and I was carrying the rest of the candy on the way home. He couldn't have been happier.

Friday night, Halloween night, the married student wards in Moscow had a dinner and then a trunk or treat activity. We decided to do that instead of normal trick or treat because 1- I don't know the good/safe areas in town yet for trick or treating and 2 - Easton already had tons of candy from the night before. He did really well throughout the dinner but he only wanted to go to a few vehicles and then he was done. He threw a fit and we headed back to our vehicle and helped pass out candy.

I'm excited for next year when he'll enjoy it even more and he'll have a little more determination to stay out longer.
